How Do I Render Out A Wireframe?

When you render out a wireframe in Blender, it shows your 3D model’s geometry. This is how you can see the model topology, or structure, to demonstrate it effectively in a tutorial or technical presentations, and even for explaining your design flow.

How to Create a Wireframe in Blender

Enable Wireframe in Viewport

The first thing you need to make sure is that your model shows up in wireframe mode inside the Viewport. Wireframe can be changed by pressing Z then changing the shading from the drop down menu.

Apply a Wireframe Modifier

If you want to display wireframe-only, add a Wireframe Modifier to the object.

To do this, you must be in the 3D Viewport to select your object.

Navigations the Modifiers tab and press Add Modifier and activate Wireframe.

This will render the geometry as a wireframe.

Set Wireframe Material

Apply material to get a clean wireframe with powerful edges.

Under the Material Properties tab, create a new material and assign an Emission Shader with your desired color.

In the Wireframe Modifier settings increase the Line Thickness to see it clearly.

Render Settings

Go to the Render Properties tab and select Cycles or Eevee. When you hit F12 it will create the wireframe image.

Wireframe Render Applications

Wireframe renders for architectural, product or game development are useful to show topology and structure of 3D models that facilitate the comprehension of its design process.
