How To Increase Render Distance In Blender

In Blender, optimizing render distance is important in terms of viewing visible objects and trees. Render distance is the point at which objects in the 3D environment are no longer rendered, so generally how far from the camera can “see.”

How to Increase Render Distance in Blender

Adjust Camera Clipping:

In 3D Viewport view, right-click on your camera.

Select the Camera tab and find Clipping in the Properties Panel.

Increase the End value. This sets a maximum distance at which objects will be drawn in the scene. Aim high to keep objects visible farther away from the camera.

Adjust Viewport Clipping:

If things disappear as you navigate, go to View > Viewport Properties.

You can increase the clipping distance here, too, to make it look better when editing large scenes.

Optimize Render Settings:

Some extra thoughts about performance increase with larger render distance. Any object beyond the clipping range will not be rendered at all, which is a significant computation for distant objects, thus correctly setting the ranges of your cameras prevents you rendering things that will never actually be visible anyway.

Why Adjust Render Distance?

Situations where render distance in Blender is paramount are where you have very large vistas — landscapes or cityscapes for instance. But it ensures crucial information in the background will not be clipped or covered up in the final render.
