Recommended PC Specs For 3D Rendering

Selecting the perfect PC specs for 3D rendering can speed up your workflow by a good pool of time, along with letting you work on complex scenes faster. The hardware requirements for 3D rendering vary depending upon how big are your projects but these specifications are recommended in general for all, whether you’re a beginner or professional.

Processor (CPU)

Best: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, Intel Core i9-12900K

Why: 3D rendering is eating a ton of CPU. Like rendering scenes in Blender Cycles, or Arnold. This is important because rendering software typically uses as many cores as it can cram into, so multi-core performance is key.

Graphics Card (GPU)

Recommend: NVIDIA RTX GPU

Why: In GPU rendering the important things are the GPU, a strong one. Fast renders are possible especially for complex scenes thanks to the parallel processing power provided by high-end GPUs in render engines such as Redshift and Blender Cycles etc.

RAM

Recommended: 32GB to 64GB

Why: 3D rendering software uses a lot of RAM, especially with high-poly models or simulations. Most projects are fine with 32GB, and only larger scenes (or complex simulations) would require more such as 64GB.

Storage

Recommended: 1TB NVMe SSD

Why: To be able to quickly load large scene files and textures, a fast storage device is necessary. A NVMe SSD will significantly reduce load times versus traditional HDDs, which should have a positive impact on system performance.

Cooling System

We Recommend: Liquid cooling or premium air cooling

Justification: Synchronized rendering produces a large amount of heat (CPU and GPU) so it need to be cooled down. System performance stays strong over a long period of render time.
