Scenes can vary in complexity, resolution and other factors that impact render time and cost. When submitting a larger job to our platform, we recommend testing your computer’s rendering performance against the sample cost and time estimate provided.
How do we generate the sample cost estimate?
We render a set amount of frames of the BMW sample Blender scene at different resolutions. When you submit your job, pick a resolution that best matches your scene.
How do I test this?
You can download the sample scene for the resolution you selected from the links below. Open the scene in Blender on your computer, ensure your optimal hardware options are selected and select ‘Render Animation’ under the ‘Render’ tab. This will render 10 frames of the scene above.
With the time that it takes your computer to render 10 frames you can more accurately estimate the cost of your scene. If you compare the render time of the 10 BMW frames with how long it takes your system 10 frames of your scene, you can get an idea of how much more or less intensive your scene is.
As an example, if your computer rendered the 10 BMW frames in 5 minutes, but rendered 10 frames of your scene in 10 minutes, then you could expect the sample render cost to be about half as expensive as your scene might be.
