Why Is My Texture Not Showing In Blender?

A common problem that users face when working in Blender is where the texture does not show up or appear on render view or in final output. This might be because of wrong material assignment or wrong UV unwrap. Something all Blender users encounter is that texture won’t appear.

Material Not Assigned: Be sure the correct material is applied to what you are working with. Make sure that your object have the correct material with a texture mapped to it in the Material Properties tab.

Texture Not Assigned to Shader: Make sure in the Shader Editor that you have actually connected your texture into a shader or another appropriate shader. You have to connect the texture to the Base Color input for it to show up.

UV Mapping Issues

Texture bleeding: The texture does not have the proper UV coordinates for the object and therefore, would not display properly. You can also switch to UV Editing mode and make sure you have the model unwrapped, with the texture map correctly aligned.

Viewport Shading Settings: Being either in Material Preview or Rendered Viewport mode. Unless the textures are baked into the material, they will not appear in Solid or Wireframe Mode.

How to Fix Missing Textures

Verify Texture File Path: Confirm that the texture files link properly. If the texture file can not be found by the Blender (e.g. Be moved or renamed) then you will see no texture. You can re-map a texture in the Image Texture Node.

Texture still doesn’t display, re-apply UV mapping – sometimes it looks like the map is set up properly, but still, attempt to unwrap the model.

We have covered the common issues which you might face while trying to add textures to Blender. Make sure and try these quick fixes and get it working for your projects.
