Cloud Based Rendering Best Practices

The foundational principle to keep in mind when designing your projects to best render online is maximizing the amount of machines dedicated to the number of frames submitted, while also minimizing compute required per frame.

So what does this mean? This cloud render farm meaning can be accomplished in many ways. If your project just has too many frames, but each frame renders relatively quickly, you’re in a good place to upload and render online.

If your individual frames are taking very long to render and the quality is as low as it can be already, it would be a good idea to try and introduce new cameras or other means of splitting the frame to distributed rendering. With multiple machines on a cloud render farm this rendering can all be done simultaneously, with the output joined together later.

Either way, the goal before uploading a project should be trying to minimize any single points of failure as possible to best benefit from distributed computing. This generally produces the fastest and most cost effective outcome.
